(Note: this is going to be a bit rambly and disconnected, although similar thoughts are grouped into paragraphs.)
In the Past, I was known to start off with my age. Unfortunately, that changes annually, and I wasn't the speediest at updating it. So, I was born in the fall of 1981, and those who seriously wish to know my age may do the math. As far as physical traits are concerned, I'm just short enough that I don't have to duck to go through doorways. I have some color of hair; once upon a time, it was red, but it changed more towards brown as I got older. My eyes have always been brown.
Rush is my most favorite band, followed by the likes of Dream Theater, Shadow Gallery, Liquid Tension Experiment (not really a band, but... oh well), and classical music, with the exception of opera. In books, André Norton, Alan Dean Foster, and Piers Anthony are my favorite authors. Stanley Schmidt always puts a thought-provoking editorial in Analog, which is an excellent read.
My favorite color is blue, but all of the cool colors are nice. I like highly saturated colors of any value; like with hot foods, intensity seems to be the key. Pink is a nice color, too. Interestingly enough, my birthstone can come in both blue and pink. With my indeterminate gender, I think that's fitting.
Ever since moving away from home, I've grown to love Asian foods... teriyaki, sweet and sour, rice, baby corn, stir-fry. I've also discovered that I really don't like much prefabricated food, like cereals, anymore. French toast, marshmallow omelettes, pancakes, and bagels are just better. Maybe it's a case of too much enrichment in the cereals.
I still have the same sexuality. I still feel weird having that on a public web page.
My ideal first car is a blue Volkswagen Beetle GLS, with... an interior. I haven't decided on that part yet. My first home away from home has turned out to be utterly disappointing; perhaps I can do better once I have a job. At least this one is cockroach-free, unlike my brother's first Texan apartment.
I'm against political correctness, and probably a number of social graces as well. I would much rather know what's on someone's mind rather than have to delicately navigate a minefield of potential offense. Without honest communication, how may there be improvement in anything?
Everything G. W. Bush does makes me happier to have voted against him. I don't think it's our place to go enforcing our high and mighty morality with aid money to only approved family planning clinics. Nor do I think an unholy crusade against Iraq is the answer to any problem, especially one that can't be shown to exist. "Hi, my daddy thinks you're evil! Hand over your country." What a dangerous precedent.
