Moonsnow - Poetry - Lakeside Park

Moonsnow

Night permeates my soul----
Perfect stillness, ultimate contrast
To the cabin standing up the road
Whose iron heart beats hotly
Among the walls of wood and glass.
But here, pervasive coldness brings
Attention to sharpest focus on the world:
Silver sparkles dancing on the
Snow's smooth surface, the black
Shadows of the bare trees shrinking
To form tiny strands of yawning voids
At their edges. Its overwhelming beauty
Cannot be shut away; to close the eyes
Is to feel it ten times strengthened.
