Snapshots - Poetry - Lakeside Park

Snapshots

A Snapshot is a moment captured in poetry. If they seem a bit like a riddle... maybe they are. One never knows with poetry. :)

A lot of these are concerned with night. I love the night...

Blazing colors faded now
Shuffling through them, shriveled brown
Autumn's remnants dry and dull
Fallen down from lofty crown

Crystal kisses, cold and white
Drifting down from heaven high
Silence sings throughout the night
Perfect 'neath the moonless sky

Twisting yellow fringed with red
Ring of faces gathered near
Singing cuts the cool night air
Autumn's glory, lit by flame

Silver sparkles in the faint moonlight
The darkness of the forest around me
So much more complete without leaves
In the fiery cold of winter's night

Great drops of liquid rainbows
Cling to the forest of green ribbons
Brought to light by the rising sun
Born in moonlight to die in heat of day

reaching through thin strands of glass and copper
speaking in the soft tones of electrons and phosphorous
touching each other deeper and deeper, bit by bit
lying with their hearts side by side, sharing the magic
