Parts

Part of me
enjoys the power
of taut muscles,
of sheer force delivered
in crushing hammerstrikes

Part of me
finds glee in destruction,
in the splintering of wood,
in the twisting of metal
destroyed for no reason

Part of me
watches with sadness,
wise enough to know
things can be destroyed only once
but they can be treasured forever

Part of me
wonders
how I can still
be one


I don't know what inspired me to write this. (I don't know either.)
